Which Digital Card Is For You?

Recently we attended IIDEX Canada, and it was amaaazing. If you’re into design, interiors, architecture or beautiful things in general, it is THE can‘t miss event of the year.

We had the chance to talk to some of you about ditching the old school business cards, and downloading a free app which lets you make digital cards for business, networking, social events, teams, hobbies, or just for fun. Sound good?

Here’s a list of ways you can use digital cards to connect quicker and smarter with the people around you.

Okay, so it’s Friday night, you’re planning a big party for the weekend, and it’s a last minute thing. How do you get in touch with everyone? Sure, you could call, text or Facebook them…or you could send digital invitation cards with a map and RSVP link. Even a picture of the venue.

It’s a bit more memorable, huh?

So you’ve got that networking gig coming up for work…greeeat. Like you really want to spend the whole day talking to strangers about analytics and audience engagement. Well, at least with a digital business card, you’ll have something to talk about besides numbers and percentages (unless you want to).

Next time you’re at one of these events, offer to send them your digital card via email, social media or nearby sharing. Not only will you immediately get their details in your phone or tablet, they’ll instantly get your details, with clickable links and a slick and professional background.

If this isn’t convenient enough, it’ll break the monotony and get you guys talking about life outside work. After all, what better way is there to network with strangers, than to introduce them to a cool new app that’ll make their life easier and more fun?

Team Promotion

Got a big project coming up? I know, so do we. All the time. That’s why we came up with team cards. You can add everyone’s name, social media links, a website or portfolio, and anything else you want (like team pictures, if you can get everyone to smile and pose at the same time).

When you’re promoting a team project, or competing in a Design Competitions, give the judging panel a fancy digital card with all your relevant details. It’ll make you stand out a mile, and show them how serious you are about their time and your effort. It’ll also show off your design skills. It’s a win-win scenario : )

Hobby Group

When you want to unwind and hang out with like minded people, starting or joining a hobby group can be a great way of making new friends and squeeling over nerdy shared interests (don’t worry, we have plenty of nerdy interests of our own, no judgement here).

Promoting your group or meetup through traditional paper based means can be expensive and time consuming – remember handing out flyers in college? Yeah, it wasn’t fun for us either.

Thankfully, now flyers can be digital cards with addresses, phone numbers and social media icons embedded via live links. Oh, and did we mention it’s free? So you don’t need to spend a dime printing and pinning stacks of paper. You also can’t prick your thumb on an app!

If this all sounds good, head over to the MyKrd on the App Store or MyKrd on Google Play to download the latest version of MyKrd App. We’re open to feedback and suggestions, so let us know what you think. Happy networking!

  • I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter
a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and let me tell you, you
have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something that not enough folks are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy I came across this during my search for something regarding this.
